Flying on a commercial or private jet can be equally scary- but the truth is that jets today are quiet safe. In fact, they are so safe that you have greater odds of obtaining injury through something such as driving a car. If you still have flying anxiety regardless, there are ways to cope.

Using the same thought, you could read up on airline travel, statistics data, and keep your phobia at bay with the intelligence you gained.
